Jerry was born in Marshalltown Iowa to Clyde and Bernice St. Claire Newton. He graduated from Conrad Iowa High School, Coe College and received an MBA from Indiana University.

He served 24 years in the United States Air Force in eight states plus Germany, England, and Turkey. He was the former President of the Northern Santa Barbara Habitat for Humanity and a vital member of the Lompoc First United Methodist Church.

Jerry liked to see the world and saw much of it. With a recent trip to Antarctica, he accomplished his dream of visiting all seven continents.

Now Jerry is enjoying eternal paradise in the presence of his Friend and Savior. Jerry touched countless lives with his care, compassion, and gentle graciousness. He will be missed!
